9/11 Remembered

Today is the tenth anniversary of the most devastating terrorist attack on American soil. Everyone is concentrating on, and remembering, what they were doing when the tragic events happened. Some are greatful for circumstances that kept them from being in the middle of the tragedy. Some are grieving for the lost loved ones. This event changed America forever.

Many people since have complained about many things that have came about because of this tragedy. Increased airport security, increased vigilence on every front, and some privacy intrusions. We want to be safe and not have this happen again. We have been fortunate to only have this single devestating event in our lives.

Terrorism is a global problem.

We forget to think about other countries that have things like this happen all the time.

There are many places in the world that we should remember today, places where bombings are a common occurance devastating families each day. These places have had bombings long before our attack and had many since then. We cannot let ourselves forget the loved ones lost all over the world.

We also need to remember the people who help protect us today. The policemen, firemen, and our service people who are fighting in foreign lands to keep us safe and free. These individuals have made a descision to do these jobs. They have made a descision to keep us safe at all costs. They put their lives on the line for us every day. Many of them have lost their lives over the years in doing just that.

We need to remember the bravery of all those involved in the event and should NEVER forget that some did prevent it from being a larger tragedy; the brave souls on flight 93. A small group can cause much devastation and a small group can also save lives through their brave actions.

We need to say a prayer for all the people who have paid the ultimate price to keep us safe and free.

We need to say a prayer for all those who have lost loved ones to terrorism.

We need to remember the heroes we have around us everyday.

We also need to remember that the detracters and conspiracists are also Americans and they have the freedom to say what they want. It is America and many have died to ensure you can say what you want in public and in print. This is the land of the free and home of the brave afterall.

Let these events be a lessen to us that life can change in an instant. Your life, my life, or those around us can change for both better and worse at anytime or in any place.

Let us celebrate the fact that we do not have these things happen in America, let us celebrate that fact that we are still safe today, and let us celebrate the fact that we are all free here in America today. Let us celebrate that the perpetrators were brought to justice.

Let us remember who we are as a country and what we have accomplished.

God Bless America!
