Affiliate Marketing Newbie: Beware of These Dangers!
For the newbie in this ‘make money online game‘ it is a jungle out there. Affiliate marketing is a great way to make money from home, but for someone just starting out it is hard. You are deluged with one program after another and you never seem to get anywhere. You get email after email with the ‘next big thing‘ that will make you a mint overnight. You get ebook after ebook that never really quite get you in the money.

Newbie Terror #1 – Dreams of Overnight Riches
Once you come to the realization that making money on the Internet is no picnic and actually work – you are closer to success than you might think. Once you realize there is no free lunch, you will eliminate most of the programs and offers you will see or get in your email. Along with this is using a little common sense and think about what they are offering.
If you REALLY think about what they are telling you in the ads; pay ONLY $2 one time and make $10,000.00 a month, Use this EXACT ad and you will make thousands of dollars, we do ALL the work, you just collect the money, and dozens more. You will also see combinations of these themes.
Now if you don’t READ the entire ad and the fine print, you are STUPID!!
If someone on the street came up to you and says to you, “ Give me $2 and I will give you $10,000.00 a month for life.” – would you believe them?
Why would you do any different because it has nice pictures and says the same thing on the Internet? Use your head people! This flies in the face of EVERY common financial thing you have EVER been taught. To make ANY money on the Internet – you have to SELL something, period. There will be a monthly program payment at some point – it doesn’t work any other way.
There are a lot of the “We have done all the work for you, use these EXACT ads and make a fortune” type programs. You will find that you need to brand yourself and being unique will get you farther than being a cookie cutter affiliate. If this person was serious, they would severely limit the number of these they sell. Otherwise if EVERYONE was doing the same EXACT thing…it may work for a little while (IF you got in first before EVERYONE was doing it). Think about how other things are marketed; cars, cookies, water, anything.
This is how it really works, the Internet doesn’t ‘magically’ make things work differently.
For the last example, why would anyone do ALL the work to make YOU money? Does this make any sense to you? Sure it looks good with all the great graphics and pictures. Again, if someone on the street came up to you and said,”Give me $10 a month and I will give you thousands a month back.” how fast would you run away?

Newbie Terror #2 – WOW, it’s FREE!
We all want to find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. We all want to believe that we can get lucky enough to get in on something BIG. There is an old adage that you get what you pay for. Most ebooks that you get for free are worth what you pay for them. Most will give you some outdated techniques that are only a teaser to get you to buy something. You do have to go through a lot of crap to get the gold nuggets.
There are some free ebooks that are great and have tremendous information in them. I have paid for ebooks that have techniques that don’t work anymore. You roll the dice and take your chances. Just realize that all free things are not good. The free things on this site are FREE, and they are good. I spent a lot of time and money to find these ‘nuggets’.
The worst offender of the ‘great stuff for free’ is the new trend of “Continuity Programs”. A continuity program will offer a great free item; Ipod, expensive course, or something of great value, they just need you to pay for the shipping. By accepting this great ‘gift’, you are also signing up for a monthly commitment. This will be anywhere from a few dollars to MUCH more. You will find this in the main ad on some, others will have it as a “future monthly commitment” item in the checkout.
None of them will tell you in the main part of the ad that you get this free thing for signing up for an expensive monthly membership. I got burned once by one of these, I got a charge on my credit card that I didn’t recognize and found that the great DVD course I got for free included a monthly membership that I didn’t know about or agree to. I did get it removed, but it was a pain. READ everything in any ad!
Newbie Terror #3 – I can do this without spending any money!
This is a BIG mistake! You have to realize that I have found NO ONE that is making any money that did it without spending ANY money. You have to realize that you are in a business and you will have to spend money. It is part of the game. You do need to make some hard decisions about WHAT to spend money on.
You have complete control over this. Make sure that you NEVER – EVER – spend more than you can afford! No matter what you are doing realize that you will have to float it for a couple of months before you start to see money rolling in. Most people panic when the money doesn’t start rolling in immediately.
This should get you thinking, PLEASE read things BEFORE you click “OK”.
Make your life much easier and realize that if it was easy to be a millionaire – everyone would be a millionaire.
