Being Successful in 2011

Well a New Year is upon us again!

It seems like yesterday that we did the same last year. As I get older it seems the years pass much more quickly. The goal is to make each year better than the last. That is usually the purpose of New Years Resolutions; to improve yourself in the coming year.

What have you made your resolution to be?

Make more money?

Have a better job?

Quit doing ______?

New Years Resolutions are very similar to everyone who wants to make money at home, they talk a good game but usually don’t do much to accomplish it.

If you are going to do the same things this year that you did last year, will you have any different results? Probably not. Just as you need a map to get to somewhere you have never been; you need a plan.

Business is much like show business. Everyone is in awe of the Super Stars of the game. There are also hundreds of others who remain nameless and still make a living. Even with the Super Stars you will find no “over night success” stories. They all have one thing in common though – they never gave up. Even when some where actually almost homeless, they continued to go toward their goals. They tried hard enough to find all the wrong ways to do things until they got it right. Have you done enough and failed enough to start getting it right?

Most will have a picture in their mind of what they want and won’t let anyone talk them out of it. Even in the online marketing game are several who put themselves tens of thousands into debt before they got it right. For the successful ones, the fear of failure was greater than anything else. What drives you? Once you are successful the money will come. If you are doing it ‘just for the money’ you may have some problems. I have seen success and money destroy too many people. You can see the examples everyday in the entertainment world.

Time is one of the things you cannot replace when it is used. Everyday you come up with excuses for not doing what you want to really be doing is time spent that will never be replaced. Steve Jobs said that he looks in the mirror and asks himself if what he is doing today is really what he wants to do. If too many days pass that he says “No’, then he makes a change. Change is not an overnight process.

The real problem becomes that you will set a goal and think, “All I have to do is get this and everything will be OK”. As an Example, you find a job that pays more than what you make now, you go out and get that job thinking things will be better and then find that you have no time. The new job pays better because you have to spend more time doing it. If it is really not what you love to do it will become like the last job too quickly.

I have been there and done that and it ain’t no fun. I gave up having a JOB years ago. I do what I love to do as much as I can do it. If you love what you do then it is not work. The other key to making your dreams come true is that you have to love what you are doing. If you hate placing ads, writing articles, blogging, or surfing the traffic exchanges, but are doing it to make money – you are doomed before you start. What is success to you? Read the bonuses and start applying the knowledge. What you find may just surprise you. The best of luck in your endeavors in this brand New Year!
