How Many Programs are too Many?
The trend in Internet Marketing today seems to be that you sign up for a lot of programs and then try to make a little money off of each one. Is this really a good way to do things? Let’s look at this for a moment.
Say you start off trying to promote 5 different programs. You are trying to get traffic and sales for them all at the same time. It is hard enough to get enough traffic for one program, let alone 5. So you spread yourself over the 5 programs and if you are paying money to be in the programs, the bills come like clockwork each month whether you make any money from them or not. If you go the traffic exchange route to promote, there are only so many credits to go around unless you buy credits or surf 12 hours a day.
If you go the article marketing route, you usually need at least 100 articles for each to get enough traffic to convert; IF you are a decent writer. If you try the SEO route, it usually takes a few months to generate the traffic. If you are trying the ‘tricks’ to get traffic from the search engines; they are always changing the way they do things and you may get traffic for awhile then it may disappear.
Most people don’t think about these things and if you can afford to pay the monthly bills for long enough, you can start to make money on all 5 – in time. The thing that you need to realize is that the people who promote multiple programs have been doing this for awhile and usually started with just one program and built that up and then added a second and then built that up and so on.
It is far easier to get one program off the ground and making money than several at once. You then can have a decent ROI (Return On Investment). I do not know of any program that will make you money immediately. There are ads for ones that will pay you to join, but you need to read the fine print. Nobody is going to give you money without you having to do something for it.
So what can you do? Find a program that is inexpensive; one that won’t cost you a lot of money each month to get your feet wet. One that won’t take food off the table or financially cause some hurt. Pick ONE method of promotion and learn how to do it well. Whether it is article marketing, traffic exchanges, email marketing, or another form of marketing.
When you get the first program to a point where it is paying for itself; then you do the same thing with another program and try a different marketing technique. Then you can use both the techniques on the 2 programs and increase your income. Then when the second one is paying for itself you start the third program and do the same thing.
This is how you build your business. One thing at a time. I believe that this is why so many fail in Internet marketing as they try to do too much at once and paying money out each month to not see much coming in will stress them out to the point they quit. Every large corporation in the world as a small operation. Apple started with 2 guys in a garage.
Will you make it overnight – NO! Do not expect any program to do that for you no matter what the sales pages tells you. Be very selective on what you purchase, only what you need to learn for the particular marketing technique you are working on. Otherwise you will succumb to the infamous ‘information overload’ and get nothing done. Build your business one stone at a time. Make sure you have a solid foundation to build the rest on.
